About NGLC
Awarded Law Firm of the Year
Nari Gursahani Law College, named after the legendary Supreme Court advocate and humanist, is popularly known as NGLC. Established in 2004, the College has been imparting quality legal education to the students in Ulhasnagar and its vicinity. The College is affiliated to University of Mumbai; approved by the Bar Council of India and recognized by the Government of Maharashtra.
Aesthetically designed, the College has modern and well-equipped class-rooms, moot court hall, a well endowed library, gymkhana, campus canteen and playground, which makes learning a joyful process.
The strength of NGLC lies in its dedicated and committed teaching and non-teaching faculty, which maintains a homely atmosphere, coupled with necessary discipline.
The motto of the College is ‘Legal Education – A Social Commitment.’ The vision of the College is to create a Center of Excellence aiming at value based and holistic development of students equipped for global challenges of the millennium. And the mission of the College is to provide legal knowledge through theory and practice and to make the study of law socially relevant and fruitful.
Nari Gursahani Law College derives its name from the icon Dada Nari Gursahani. A giant among the lawyers, Dada Nari Gursahani, was the tallest stalwart of social work, a messiah of the Sindhi community, a magnanimous philanthropist, a committed educationist, an undaunted freedom fighter, a devoted spiritualist, who rendered honorary legal services to the HSNC Board as its member. He protected and fought for the rights of Sindhis as a linguistic minority. Law, he said, was an instrument of social engineering; and lawyers must do their best to serve the society and uphold the noble mission of Law.
Nari Gursahani Law College, housed in the sprawling sixteen acres Smt. CHM Campus, stands stately and tall within four minutes walking distance from Ulhasnagar Railway Station. This conveniently accessible legal education institution was inaugurated on 2nd April 2004, in the presence of the three Trustees and Presidents of the HSNC Board, family members of Dada Nari Gursahani, Dr. Vijay Khole, the then Vice-Chancellor of University of Mumbai and Principal Dinesh Panjwani, the then principal of CHM College and currently the Secretary of HSNC Board. The College is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra, affiliated to the University of Mumbai, and approved by the Bar Council of India. In 2004 the College introduced the five years course and in 2008 the three years course.
Ever since its establishment, Nari Gursahani Law College has strived to provide quality legal education through its Five Years BA LLB Program and Three Years LLB Program, to the masses in the city of Ulhasnagar and to those living in its vicinity. It is heartening that today, the College enjoys top priority status on the list of law colleges situated in Thane District. Students flock not only from near but also from far to get a seat in the College. They come to us by choice and not chance.
