Code of Conduct for Students, Teaching, and Non-Teaching Staff
As members of the University of Mumbai and HSNC Board community, all students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff are expected to adhere to the following code of conduct. This code outlines the expectations for behavior and interaction within the university campus and serves to create an environment that is conducive to learning, growth, and mutual respect.
Teaching Staff:
- Professional Conduct: Demonstrate professionalism and integrity in all interactions with students, staff, and colleagues. Uphold academic standards and promote an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Fair Evaluation: Assess student work fairly and provide constructive feedback. Avoid any biases or favoritism in grading and evaluation processes.
- Respectful Communication: Communicate with students and staff respectfully, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding. Foster an environment that encourages open dialogue and intellectual growth.
- Continuing Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated on current teaching practices and methodologies. Enhance teaching skills and knowledge to benefit students effectively.
Non- Teaching Staff
- Service Orientation: Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to students, teaching staff, and colleagues. Strive to meet the needs and requirements of the university community to the best of your abilities.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information related to students, staff, or the university. Handle private data responsibly and only share it within the framework of authorized procedures.
- Professionalism: Display professionalism in your actions, conduct, and appearance. Adhere to the relevant policies, rules, and regulations of the university.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Promote a spirit of cooperation and collaboration among team members. Support a positive work environment that fosters productivity and mutual respect.
Disciplinary Action
Violation of this code of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to verbal or written warning, probation, suspension, expulsion(as applicable), or employment termination. Disciplinary procedures will be as per the policies of the University of Mumbai and HSNC Board.
