ACTIVITIES 2022-2023

1. Eleven students participated in the 8th Yoga Protocol Training Camp, organized by the University of Mumbai, 16th – 21st June 2022.
2. A Plantation Drive was organized on World Environment Day, 04th June 2022 on the college premise.
3. A group of our students took part in the 55th Youth Festival organized by the Department of Students' Development, University of Mumbai. Priyansha Bhalwal got the Consolation Prize in the preliminary round of the Story Telling Competition, 12 August 2022.
4. Two Professors and 35 students attended the Flag Hoisting Ceremony at CHM Campus on 15th August 2022 and ‘Desh Bhakti Event’ consisting of Patriotic Songs (solo and group), Dance (solo and group), Poem recitation, Extempore Elocution, Extempore Debate, Speeches on Indian freedom struggle was conducted on 17 August 2022.
5. Seven students participated in the Chess Competition organized by MMK College of Commerce & Economics on 22nd and 23rd August 2022. Bhoomija Yadav won 2nd prize in the girl’s category.
6. 2nd Shakuntala Gursahani Memorial Event was held on 26th August 2022. The College Library was named in the loving memory of Late Ms. Shakuntala Gursahani; and the Photography Competition ‘Ek Tasveer Bubbles Ke Naam” was organized.
7. Students celebrated Teacher’s Day on 10th September 2022.
8. The 10th Padma Bhushan Late Dr. L.H. Hiranandani Memorial Talk on ‘Role of Education in Changing Times’ was organized on 16th September 2022. Hon’ble Provost of HSNC University, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, was the Guest of Honour. Trustee Maya Shahani was the Chief Guest.
9. Ms. Nishigandha Rao (-72 kgs category) won the Gold medal in National Powerlifting Championship For Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior & Master Men and women at Cotton University, Guwahati, Assam, the event was from 20th to 24th September 2022.
10. Amir Pathan won a Bronze medal in the Inter Collegiate Rifle & Pistol Shooting Tournament jointly organized by the University of Mumbai, Thane Zone Sports Committee & Swami Hansmuni Maharaj Degree College of Commerce on 22 September 2022.
11. A group of students visited the office of Lokayukta, Mumbai on 23 September 2022 with Dr. Sambeeta Dabral.
12. The 13th Dada Nari Gursahani Festival – Vidhi Manthan, State Level Moot Court Competition was held on 24 and 25th September 2022. Former Judge of Bombay High Court, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Abhay M. Thipsay was the Chief Guest, Mr. Anil Harish, Mr. Kishu Mansukhani and Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani were the Guests of Honour. Twenty-six teams from the State of Maharashtra participated. The Preliminary Round was judged by Adv. Gautum Thacker, Adv. Adhiraj Harish, Adv. Rishika Harish and Adv. Tamanna Naik. The Final round was judged by Adv. Josy John and Adv. Nihal Shaikh. Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune was the Winner and Lords Universal College of Law, Goregaon, Mumbai the Runner-up. Pravin Gandhi College of Law, Vile Parle, Mumbai was awarded the Best Memorial and Sanyog Shantaram Padelkar from Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan’s College of Law, Sion, Mumbai won the Best Mooter prize. The event was sponsored by D M Harish Foundation.
13. Ms. Elisha Masih and Mr. Harsh Mulchandani participated in the 12th D.M. Harish Memorial Inter-Collegiate Elocution Competition at G. J. Advani Law College on 24th September 2022.
14. Garba-Raas was celebrated on 1st October 2022.
15. The College celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on 3rd October 2022. Ashutosh Shashtri and Zainab Inamdar delivered speeches on the occasion.
16. Ms. Sidhhi Dabade from FYBLS won the Bronze medal in the Junior and Senior Thane District Taekwondo Championship 2022 organised by Suraj Taekwondo Academy (6 November 2022)
17. On 26th November 2022, Constitutional Day was celebrated. Adv. Manasi Bhushan from the Supreme Court conducted a webinar on “Constitution Amendments: Walkthrough and Judicial Pronouncements”.
18. Human rights day was celebrated on 10th December 2022. College organized “Open Letter Writing and Deliberation Conclave” and invited students to submit letters on themes mentioned in the brochure. Eighteen students participated. Adv Devesh Joshi, college alumnus, judged the event. Ms. Cheshta Talreja won the first prize, followed by Aashutosh Shastri (second), George Philip and Elisha Masih (third).
19. An educational visit was organized to the Office of Commissioner of Police, Mumbai to attend the Seminar on ‘Awareness on Anti-Human Trafficking’ on 16th December 2022. Twenty-five students attended the Seminar with Dr. Sambeeta Dabral and Prof. Tripti Singh.
20. Twenty-five students visited the High Court of Judicature at Bombay on 16th December 2022 with Dr. Sambeeta Dabral and Prof. Tripti Singh.
21. The college organized an educational visit to Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal, Mumbai on 19th December 2022. Twenty students with Prof. Samyak Jhakday visited the Tribunal.
22. Another educational excursion was conducted to Maharashtra State Women’s Commission on 21 December 2022. Thirty students with Dr. Sambeeta Dabral visited the Commission.
23. Legislative Assistants to Members of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship and Public Policy session was arranged on 22nd December 2022. The Session was conducted by an alumnus, Mr. Alfahad Sorathia, who was chosen for a LAMP Fellowship Program, 2021-2022.
24. Seventeen students visited the Office of Tehsildar and Executive Magistrate at Ambernath on 28th December 2022 with Dr. Sambeeta Dabral.
25. From 9th January 2023 to 14th January 2023 students celebrated Cultural Week. 26. On World Hindi Day, 10th January 2023, students paid homage to Hindi Language. Thirteen students participated and performed various activities such as speech, poetry, dance and skit.
27. National Youth Day was celebrated on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanada, 12th January 2023. Thirteen students took part and performed various activities such as speech, poetry, dance and skit.
28. Twenty-six students with Prof. Madhura Ayare visited District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission on 13th January 2023.
29. On 16th January 2023, one hundred and forty-nine students with teaching and non-teaching staff visited Yerwada Open Prison, Pune.
30. Students of Third Year LLB participated in the Moot Court held by Dr. Sambeeta Dabral on 21st January 2023. 31. On the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, 23rd January 2023, ten students participated and performed various activities such as debate, speech, poetry, dance and skit.
32. Twenty-nine students with Prof. Samyak Jhakday visited the Industrial and Labour Court on 23th January 2023.
33. The 74th Republic Day was celebrated on the 26th January 2023. Ten students performed various activities such as dancing, singing, reciting poetry, etc. Competitions were also conducted such as rangoli, best out of waste and poster–making.
34. Fourteen students with Dr. Sambeeta Dabral and Prof. Samyak Jhakday attended 7th Chief Justice M. C. Chagla lecture delivered by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rohinton Nariman, former Judge, Supreme Court of India, at the Convocation Hall, University of Mumbai on 27th January 2023.
35. Mr. Harsh Mulchandani of Second Year LLB successfully completed a Virtual International Training Programme on Mediation conducted by ADR BAR from 7th & 29th January 2023.
36. The Family Court at Thane was visited by 26 students as part of the course conducted by Prof. Madhura Ayare on the first of February 2023.
37. On 3rd February 2023, fourteen students with Professor Anmol Ahuja visited the Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trademarks at Antop Hill.
38. In collaboration with the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) the College organized a Seminar on Intellectual Property Awareness Programme on 7th February 2023. Certificates were issued to the co-ordinating Professor and the students.
39. Students of Fourth Year BLS participated in Moot Court held by Prof. Samyak Jhakday on 11th February 2023.
40. Mr. Ashutosh Shastri and Ms. Padmaja Gaikwad bagged the first prize at the debate competition at Snap Attack organized by CHM College on 13th February 2023.
41. Students participated in activities such as street play, poster making, elocution, creative writing, etc organized by S. H. M. Colleges under the head of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension on 14th February 2023
42. The annual free legal aid camp was held at College on 17th February 2023. Free legal advice was provided to community members who benefited from it.
43. Ms. Padmaja Gaikwad and Mr. Harsh Mulchandani won the first runner-up prize in Vidhi Kiran- Online Client Counseling organized by G. J. Advani Law College, Bandra on 25th February 2023.
44. Sindhi and Marathi Diwas were celebrated with great pomp by Students and various art forms such as skits, dancing, singing, etc on 27th February 2023.
45. Mr. Chandrasen Yadav and Ms. Akruti Pandey participated in the National Level Client Counseling Competition of Legis Centrum- National Level Law Fest, held on 3rd and 4th March 2023, organized by K C Law College.
46. At Rahtoli village in Badlapur, students of DLLE created legal awareness by performing street plays on matters such as consumer issues, banking fraud, etc on 4th March 2023.
47. Ms. Shravani Karmakar represented the College in HSNCB’s Performing Arts Festival Season 4 on the occasion of Holi on 6th March 2023.
48. A Seminar on “Opportunities for Women in Law: Move towards embracing Equality” was organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day, 8th March 2023. The Keynote speaker was a leading lady and an eminent advocate, Mrs. Jyoti Singh.
49. Ms. Akruti Pandey felicitated with a certificate to participate in 2nd National Legal Opinion Drafting Competition held between 10th-15th March 2023 as a part of International consumer Week Celebration organised by SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of law.
50. In collaboration with Hirali Foundation a seminar on Noise Pollution was conducted by Mrs. Sarita Khanchandani on 13th March 2023. After the seminar students affixed ‘No honking’ stickers on vehicles in the College campus.
51. Students of DLLE organised a rally on 15th March 2023 on “Waste Management” in CHM Campus, they chanted slogans and made posters.
52. Mr. George Philip, Mr. Harsh Mulchandani and Mr. Kedar Patankar participated in Sparkle 4.0- National Moot Competition organized by KLE College, Kalamboli on 17th March 2023.
53. Ms. Akruti Pandey and Mr. Chandrasen Yadav participated in Moot Court Competition at Lex- Loci, A National Level Inter-Collegiate Law Fest organized by Lords College of Law, Goregaon on 18th March 2023.
54. On 18th March 2023, Ms. Akruti Pandey and Mr. Chandrasen Yadav bagged second place in Client Counseling Competition at Lex-Loci, A National Level Inter-Collegiate Law Fest which was organized by Lords College of Law, Goregaon.
55. On the auspicious occasion of Cheti Chand and Gudi Padwa, the students and faculty members of the College came together to celebrate the festivals with great enthusiasm and fervor on 23rd March 2023.
56. As a community level activity under DLLE, students performed a street play in Smt. CHM campus on 24th March 2023.
57. An educational visit was conducted at Vidhan Bhavan on 25th March 2023.
58. Mr. George Philip participated in Rajneeti (a mock parliament) organized by S.V.K.M’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law’s Intercollegiate Cultural Festival ‘VIVIDH’ on 27th March 2023.
59. 8th Dr Gopi Gursahani National Level Research Writing Competition on ChatGPT- A wake-up call for change in curriculum,examination and assessment was organized and its results were declared on 8th April 2023. Mr. Nishant Pathak was the Chief Guest.
60. World Sindhi Language Day was celebrated on 10th April 2023 with enthusiasm by students and activities such as dances, skits, singing etc. were performed.
61. A Seminar on “Resume Building and Career Options for Law Students” was organized on 15th April 2023. The Keynote speaker was a LAMP fellow and our alumnus Mr. Alfahad Sorathia.
62. To break barriers of Language and to develop confidence in students opting for Marathi as a medium of examination, Marathi Moot Court was organised by Prof. Samyak Jhakday on 15th April 2023.
63. The 132nd Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was celebrated by applying blue tilak and garlanding his photograph which was followed by lighting the lamp, to pay obeisance for his contribution to society and to cultivate his thoughts the movie ‘Jay Bhim’ was also screened on 17th April 2023.
64. On the occasion of World Sports Day, indoor games and outdoor sports events were organized from the 19th to the 21st of April 2023.
65. The College in collaboration with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and Ulhasnagar Taluka Bar Advocates Foundation organized the Basic Legal Education Programme of Civil and Criminal Manuals (handbook) distribution to all the practicing advocates registered on and after 2020, residing at Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, and Badlapur on 23rd April 2023.
66. To ring down the curtain on the No Honking Awareness Drive conducted in collaboration with the Hirali Foundation a Valedictory Function was organised with chief guest Mr. Rahul Pawar, RTO Inspector on 6th May 2023.
67. Ms. Shloka Singare from FYBLS was placed 2nd in Hammer Throw at the Senior Annual Athletic Championship organised by Thane District Athletic Association on 11th May 2023.
68. The tree plantation drive was organized on World Environment Day, 04th June 2023 on the college premises. 69. Ms. Nishigandha Rao bagged first position and was decorated with a Gold medal in the -64 category (Lifted 57.5kgs) at District Bench Press Championship (RAW) For Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior & Master Men and women, Ulhasnagar. Along with the title of Overall Strong Women on 18th June 2023.
70. An enlightening session on mindful breathing, serene asanas, and promoting the physical as well as mental well-being of aspiring legal minds was organized on the occasion of international yoga day on 22nd June 2023.

43. Samyak Sadawarte and Padmaja Gaikwad won the award for out of the box performance, Performing Arts Festival in Singing organized by HSNC Board on 8 March 2021.
44. Dr.Nilima Chandiramani Felicitated the occasion of International Women’s Day on behalf of HSNC University, Mumbai on 8 March 2021.
45. Nari Gursahani Law College organized the talk by Guest Speaker Prof Fulvia Abbondanate, University of Naples Federico II on ‘Rights of Women in Italy’ on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2021 at 5.30pm.
46. 6th Dr. Gopi Gursahani Memorial National level Online Panel Discussion Competition on ‘Farm Bills 2020: Challenges and Opportunities’ was held on 31 March 2021. Amity University, Chhatisgarh , H.R. College and Thane Law College bagged the winning and Runner-up Teams.

ACTIVITIES 2019-2020

1. Yoga Day was observed on 21 June 2019. Students and staff performed asanas.
2. The College conducted a blood donation drive on 22 August, and donated 22 Bottles of blood.
3. A Value- added Course on ‘Mediation Skills’ was introduced in the month of August 2019. 36 students registered for the course which of 30 hours duration. Certificates of merit and participation were awarded.
4. Prof Hiroko Ito from Nagoya University, Japan visited the College on 31 August 2019 and made a presentation on ‘International Child Abduction’.
5. The Tenth NG Fest –Vidhi Manthan was celebrated as State level Client Counseling Competition on September 14, 2019. Hon’ble Justice Dr. PratibhaUpasani was the Chief Guest and Dr. KishuMansukhani the Guest of honour. Twenty two colleges participated in the Competition. J. C. College, Vile Parle and Government Law College bagged the Winner and Runner-up trophies and Dr. GopiGursahani cash prizes of Rs.12000 and 8000 respectively. The event was sponsored by D M Harish Foundation and Nari Gopi Hardasmal Gursahani Foundation.
6. The Seventh Padma Bhushan Late Dr. L.H. Hiranandani Workshop on ‘Eradicating Stigmas attached to Mental Health’ was held on September 17, 2019.Moazzam Khan, Consultant clinical psychologist , psychotherapist and counselor conducted the Workshop.
7. The Sixth HSNC Board Elocution Competition on ‘Gender Neutral Parenting: Need of the Hour’ was conducted on 28September 2019. H. R. College and BTT Colleges won the Winner and Runner-up trophies.
8. As a part of ‘Constitution Week’ celebration the college organized Quiz Competition on 27 November 2019. 9. Students and staff joined the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirvaan Diwas on 6 December 2019.
10. A value-added Course on ‘Bridge Course in English’ of 30 hours duration was conducted in the month of December 2019. 46 students registered for the Course. Certificates of participation were distributed.
11. Students and staff joined the Republic Day celebration on 26 January 2020.
12. College observed Martyr’s Day on 30 January 2020 Prof Chandrasheel Tambe from Gandhiyan Study Centre Smt.CHM College delivered talk on ‘Gandhian Principles: How relevant today?’
13. Mr. Anil Harish Scholarship, Justice S.U. Kamdar and N. H. Israni Scholarships were distributed at the hands of Trustee & Past President, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani on 14 February 2020.
14. A Workshop on ‘Court-martials’ was conducted on 15 February 2020. The Chief Guest was Judge Advocate, Commander Nitin Roy.
15. Mr. Siddhesh Tiwari participated in University of Mumbai Inter Collegiate Best Physique (Men) Competition, 2019-20.
16. As a part of Clinical Legal Education, educational visits were arranged to police stations; Railway Police Force, CSMT; Anti-Narcotic Cell; Orphanage and Gaushala. 17. Our students won laurels at Moot Court and Judgement Writing Competitions.

ACTIVITIES 2018-2019

1. Environmental Day was observed on June 5, 2018 by planting saplings in the college front yard.
2. Staff and students engaged in Yoga on 21 June 2018.
3. Educational trip to Delhi was organized in the month of July 2018
4. The Sixth Padma bhushan Dr. L.H. Hiranandani Memorial Talk was held on September 1, 2018.
5. On 6 September 2018 our students participated in Ziplock, HR College.
6. The Ninth NG Fest – Vidhi Manthan was celebrated at State level on September 8, 2018. Justice Dr. Sunanda Joshi was the Chief Guest and Dr. Kishu Mansukhani the Guest of honour. Eighteen colleges participated in the event. GLC and PES Colleges bagged the winner and Runner-up trophies and Dr. Gopi Gursahani cash prizes. The event was sponsored by D M Harish Foundation and Nari Gopi Hardasmal Gursahani Foundation.
7. A Workshop on Animal Welfare Laws was arranged on 18 September 2018. Members of Thane SPCA were the Resource Persons.
8. In collaboration with Majlis the College organized “Expressions – My body My Choice”, on 25 September 2018.
9. The Fifth HSNC Board Elocution Competition was conducted on 3 October 2018. BTTC and MMK Colleges won the Winner and Runner-up trophies.
10. Sparsh Khanchandani got the 3st Prize at the Inter Collegiate Elocution Competition organized by Anand Vishwa Gurukul College of Law, Thane on 20 October 2018. She also got a Certificate of Merit at the Anti – Dowry Competition, organised by the Anti – Dowry Movement, Bombay on 9 December 2018.
11. Mrs. Maya Shahani and Mr. Lal Chellaram, Trustees of HSNC Board, visited the college on 13 & 14 December 2018.
12. Ms Navanitha Warrier presented a paper on ‘Protection of Traditional Knowledge associated with Medicines in India’, at a Conference organized by Thakur Ram Narayan College of Law, Mumbai.
13. Ms. Navanitha Warrier and Ms. Sambeeta Dabral presented papers at ‘Anubhav 2019’, KC College, 15 January 2019.
14. Sparsh Khanchandani & Pooja Phagnekar received the Winner Trophy. Sparsh also baged the Best Speaker Trophy at a Debate organized by HR College in collaboration with the Chamber of Tax Consultants,19-20 January 2019.
15. A Workshop on ‘Superstition and Law’ was held on 19 January 2019 in association with Akhil Bhartiya Andhshradha Nirmulam Samiti.
16. The Girls Team won the 3rd prize at Yoga Tournament, R.D. National College, 20 January 2019. Students participated in Yoga Competition on 24 January 2019 and 2 February 2019 at the University Pavilion.
17. As a part of 70th Anniversary Celebration of HSNC Board, students and staff saluted the Indian National Flag at the Republic Day Ceremony organized by CHM College, 26 January 2019.
18. Dr. Bansode delivered a talk on ‘Constitutional Nationalism’ organized by Manavtavadi Bahupdeshiya Co-operative Society at Nashik.
19. A very interactive session on ‘How to become a Successful Lawyer’ was held on 29 January 2019. The Resource person was Psychologist, Moazzam Khan.
20. Two lady students rendered bhajans on Martyr’s Day on 30 January 2019. The event was a part of 70th Anniversary Celebration of HSNC Board organized by CHM College.

22. Students participated in ‘HR LIT FEST’, HR College, 4-5 February 2019.

24. Lady students attended two Workshops on Self-defence, at Watumull Institute of Electronics Engineering and Computer Technology on 5 February and 11 February 2019.
25. Students debated in the ‘Youth Manifest 2019’, organized by KC College in association with ORF and Youth ki Awaaz, 6 February 2019.
26. Our moot-court team attended the 20th D.M. Harish International Moot Court Competition on 10 February 2019.
27. Madhura Ayare and Tirtha Dalvi were selected for Short term Internship Programme at NHRC, 11-25 February 2019.
28. A group of our students attended a Seminar on ‘Artificial Intelligence’ organized by Prin K.M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy, Cuffe Parade on 14 February 2019.
29. As a part of 70th Anniversary Celebration of HSNC Board, the College held a One-day Legal Literacy Drive at Vasadshelavli village, Ambernath on 17 February 2019.
30. The Degree Distribution Ceremony was organized on 21 February 2019 and 63 students received their degree certificates in person. Dr. Kishu Mansukhani was the Chief Guest and Mrs. Padma Shah the Guest of Honor.
31. As a part of 70th Anniversary Celebration of HSNC Board, the College conducted a One-day Legal Aid Camp for the non-teaching staff members and people of Ulhasnagar on 23 February 2019.
32. A group of our students won Runner-up trophies for Judgment Writing, Extempore Moot Court, Parliamentary Debate and the Best Researcher Trophy at Vidhi Kiran, the National Law Fest, G.J. Advani Law College, 23 & 24 February 2019.
33. Marathi Bhasha divas and Sindhi Sahit Sangh day was celebrated on 27 February 2019. The event was sponsored by Mrs. Honey Harish.
34. A team participated in the Moot Court Competition, SPARKLE organized by KLE College, on 1 & 2 March 2019.
35. Pratiksha Thipsay participated in ETERNUS, organized by MGM Law College, 6 – 8 March 2019 and was decorated with a Medal for winning ‘Abbreviations,’ competition.
36. Dr. Nilima Chandiramani was conferred Life time Achievement Award by Hirali Foundation (NGO), Ulhasnagar, 8th March 2019.
37. 4th Dr. Gopi Gursahani State-level Moot Court Competition was held on 9th March 2019. Symbiosis Law College and Thane Law College were declared the Winner and Runner-up Teams. The event was sponsored by Ms. Shakuntala Gursahani.
38. Our students bagged the Second Best Team and Second Best Mooter Awards for ‘3rd File Your PIL Competition’, organized by VPM’s TMC Law College, Thane, 9th March 2019. 39. Sports were organized by the College on 12 & 13th March 2019.

41. Our team bagged the trophy for “Letter to Chief Justice” Competition, LEGIS CENTRUM 2019 hosted by KC Law College, 23 & 24th March 2019.
42. The Trustees and Presidents of HSNC Board visited the college on 27 and 30 March 2019 and inspired the staff and students with their motivational talk.
